Is this irony, or just hypocrisy?

While looking for an old SNL clip of the Sprockets to research a potential Halloween "costume", I thought I'd look for KaZaA Lite, thinking NBC wouldn't mind me downloading someone's old video-taped segment. When I did a google search - I came across this statement:
In response to a complaint we received under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint for these removed results.
When a software producer whose tool is perhaps the biggest threat to digital copyright holders EVER protects itself under the DMCA - is that irony or just hypocrisy?

Stickies for Windows

I've been using these Stickies for Windows at home for a while now and they serve as a useful virtual replacement of postit notes that I tend to lose. I wanted to install the program at work, but had a hard time finding it on Google. Hopefully one more link will move it up some in the Google page rank...

Smart move...

In the fine tradition of bringing you news from all sorts of sources - here's one about a company creating a stupid product, someone finding a major flaw, exposing it, and the company threatening to sue, then backing down... Sunncomm backs down from shift key prosecution If this wasn't copyrights related, would it have been a story at all?

Oh, yeah...

...I'm no longer looking for a new job. Mind Over Machines, Inc. is my new employer as of a week ago. Good company - not so good name... Let me tell you - the response to my Sep 16 posting was absolutely... ...nothing.

Stupid Software Patents

SCO, Eolas and Microsoft: all they do is create work for the lawyers and troubles for the developers/users. SCO's longstanding claim on Linux can be read about here and here, with a satisfyingly ironical historical anecdote here. Microsoft is bitten by the Patent Office's lax standards...: Eolas files motion to enjoin IE - news.com ...but stupidly file their own patent for a feature that has existed for at least 7 years in other products: Microsoft pockets an IM patent - news.com
