IE 7 Beta 2 - not quite ready for prime-time
So I downloaded IE7 beta 2, since the bloggers told me to. Hmm. Nice new interface - looks like they did something with ClearType perhaps, to make the fonts smoother? But then I realized that
- Grouper's start page no longer works
- IE7's pages have JavaScript errors
- Flickr's pages are messed up
- Poof - the browser closed on me without warning
- Uh - IE6 is gone. Sh!t.

Other problems:
- Yahoo Messenger fails with a security warning when trying to open an IM
- Google Toolbar doesn't show on blank tabs
- No easy way to make pages open in new tabs
Niceties:
+ Quick tabs (can be done with an extension added to Firefox)
+ Zoom (a la Opera)

WHY do new tabs take so long to open? In FireFox this is instant, in IE7 it's as slow as (or possibly slower than) loading a whole new window.

Man does the tabbing behavior in IE7 suck. There's no way to open a link in a new tab - what's the point?
